The Turkey Has Left the Building

Good Morning friends,

How many joined the millions of shoppers this morning going to search out bargains, bargains and still more bargains? I've only done it one time in my life and the thrill just didn't tickle me. I wonder if that's a sign of aging? Couldn't possibly be that. Wink!

I opted to stay home with my beloved and youngest child, (Miley, the dog). I do think of her as a child you know. I wash her bedding, bathe her, change her tinkle pads, take her outside to play, and you think she's not at least half human? She even talks back to some degree, but she also brings laughter and joy to our home, so I consider it a fair trade-off.

Speaking of family, we just happened to be with some of that variety yesterday and we got indoctrinated on Netflix. It's pretty amazing and in my opinion, better than cable television. I'm thinking about looking into it, but later. We were all sitting there and my sister-in-law mentioned a subject near and dear to my heart. Television commercials and the fact that they are so invasive nowadays. I don't think that's a word, but that's how I talk, soooooooooo......  I chimed in and my brother and husband was listening and near the end of our conversation, a member of the family said, "Can you believe all the commercials on television?"   We all looked at each other and burst out laughing and proceeded to have one of those rib aching, tear flowing laughs. This family member, who shall remain nameless, started laughing too and didn't even know what the joke was about. I haven't had a good laugh like that in a long long time. It felt really good.

I ask the nameless family member later if they were hurt or offended by us all laughing and this is the reply I received, "No, I wasn't embarrassed at all,  (fill in the blank)."  I got tickled all over again and so did the nameless family member.  What fun it is to ride and sing, what I meant to say was what fun to laugh together.

I guess I better shut up and go do some laundry, yeah that chore that just keeps on giving and giving and giving. At my house we're either very clean or awful dirty cause we have a load everyday. Laundry that is.

I'm posting a picture of my youngest child in her Christmas dress. Do you know how hard it is to get a dog that wants to be held all the time to sit still for a couple of seconds? It was very trying, but I snapped and her ears really look like flotation devices. They're not really that big, honest! I've also included a video bar with Christmas music and all you have to do is click on it and it will play while you read. I love Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music and wanted to share it with you.

Have a happy blissful weekend of shopping, television, traveling or just whatever makes you happy. God Bless our troops far and near.

Until Later,
Okie Girl @ Home
