Flower Power?

Good Sunday to All,

First photo I want to share is my pretty bush in the back yard. I'm so glad it came to life, because I was beginning to think it had no redeeming qualities.

I have no idea what it is, but this is the first time in 5 years
I've seen any beauty about it. I feel like a proud Momma.

Memorial Day is coming the end of May and I thought I would get a jump on it, so I ask tool man to go to the storage building in the back yard and find my bag of flowers that I salvaged last year. I cannot stand waste, so I had some very tired flowers that I tossed, and then some not so tired that I washed and dried to recycle this year. I think I ended up using about half of them and refurbished some sprays. They don't look too bad and I saved money!

I just took my handy dandy little glue gun and created some
new magic on these wooden crosses. That is, after tool man
put them back together and I sprayed them with fresh white paint.

Here's two more refurbished crosses.

I also made a trip to Arkansas the other day and bought some new flowers and tried my hand at making sprays. I'm not an expert, but at least they didn't cost $30.00 each. The price of flowers has climbed dramatically, so be prepared.

Here's a few of my offerings. I tried making the pretty bows that look so good on them, well that didn't work out too well, so mine have a few extra flowers.

I think this is my favorite

This is not a project for the whiners. It makes fingers
and backs hurt. Oh heck, knees, wrists, ankles, neck and
feet are all victims.

I'm almost finished I kept telling my fingers as I
wrapped a floral stick around another stem and
jabbed it into the concrete, I mean styrofoam.

This was my final attempt. This is one of those saddles that fits
over the headstone. I'm going to reconfigure this puppy, but
not until my fingers heal a bit.

What I learned was, if the styrofoam is oblong, then they are more elongated and graceful. If your styrofoam is square, they're wider and more square looking. (my opinion) That's why the last one is going to be taken apart and reshaped. I'm not sure it's possible, but give me an E for effort.

I also learned not to defrost a deep freeze, do three loads of laundry, strip and  remake a bed and do flower projects all in one day. I never said I was real smart.

Until Later,
Okie Girl @ Home
