Progress in a Small Town

Hello y'all,

It's been a lazy weekend here for me and tool man. We've played with the dog, watched television and slept. I'm even thinking of going back to bed now. Must be the weather. That's an easy excuse. Oh, it's the weather.

I went and checked out the new Craig County Community Building a little over a week ago. They have their first engagement booked for June 21st and now the contractor is saying the sewer lines or gas lines are going to slow everything down. We'll have to wait and see won't we?

The building is hard to see because of dirt piles and the fence surrounding the work area, but on the end and back I believe I saw some bay doors, so access by vehicles hauling large items will have an easier time.

It sits where the old "Faye Apperson" building rested. It had to be demolished and replaced. This building will be payed for by extending a small percentage sales tax that's paying for the new courthouse right now and when it's paid for, then payment will begin on this project. The measure passed by a vote of the people a few months ago.

Across the road is the project for the 90,000 square foot Cherokee Nation Medical Clinic. It's a huge building and I'm sure will be capable of treating thousands of patients. I believe it's going to open for business in September 2012. Not long to go on this project either.

The building faces the East. The perimeter of this project is fenced also.

This is another shot of our Community Building for Craig County.
It's very humble in size compared to the building across the road,
but it will serve the needs of the citizens of Craig County and we'll
all be very proud parents of this project.

Just a couple of exciting things happening in Vinita, Oklahoma. We're not standing still, we are progressing with the strength of our leaders and the people.

Until Later,
Okie Girl @ Home
