Ho, Ho, What?

Evenin neighbors,

I've changed the first paragraph about three times and still don't know what I want to say. I feel
aggravation, discouragement, sadness, I'm not sure, but it shall pass.

Maybe it's all the cloudy weather we've been having, or maybe it's the cold air that's keeping us inside the house, day in and day out.........................

Whatever it is, my husband has caught the same disease I have, because I ask him earlier if he was okay and he said, "Yeah."   That was it, just a one word answer, so I know he's got the same thing I do. I'm beginning to think it's not just us, cause the other night we drove around town looking for Christmas lights and there were very few to find.

It's either the economy, the aggravation of our President and lawmakers, or we have caught a dreadful disease. Let me see, what can I call this new ailment?  Heck, I may even have to start my own agency and see if I can get a charity status with the IRS. (Tongue in cheek) Research Grant! That's it!

TOGALP, pronounced as "to"  galp with a short  "a" sound. This stands for Tired Of Government And Low Pay.

I went to the city council meeting, but left when they entered another executive session. This bunch has so much secret stuff to talk about, they might as well just convert to closed session. This is discouraging to citizens that give of their time and attend these meetings, then you're left sitting for an hour sometimes for just one executive session. So sorry if you are looking for city news because I got tired of waiting.

I have been trying to find out why our local cable company is dropping one of our stations the first of the year. The cable company is not giving much information and the television station tells me it's not a matter of money for our town, because they don't charge the cable company to carry it down here.

Go figure, but the people are the losers. I read the franchise agreement and there is no leverage in that for the people. The city still gets the franchise tax collected and given to them and they also get a small percentage of gross receipts from the cable company. The people have to pay, pay, pay, but get no respect. Kinda sounds like Rodney Dangerfield doesn't it?

This may be the reason I want to form TOGALP. I get really disgusted when government, whether it be city, state, or federal, keep sticking their hands in my pockets and spend my money, but they don't give back. They just take, take, take.

I thought if I wrote this post in green it might cheer me up and give me the Christmas spirit, but it hasn't worked so I'm gonna shut this machine down and hope I can find a better mood tomorrow.

Maybe I can buy one on craigslist. "Wanted, cheerful, happy, bubbly and holiday mood!" Reply to TOGALP asap.

Until Later,
Okie Girl @ Home
