5:00am and No Meteor Shower

Hellooo,

I hope this posting finds you all happy and facing the new year with hope and assurance that things will get better soon.

I arose or is it just "I rose"? I think Jesus is the one that arose, not me. I haven't the faintest idea, but anyway I got up at 5am this morning after the weather man said there was a meteor shower and you could see it between then and dawn. I went to the front yard and looked East, North and South. I came back in the house and went out the back door and looked West, South and North. Nothin! It was shivering cold out though.

Tool man said let's get the dog and go for a drive out to the open highway and maybe we can see it. Well I forgot my camera at home, but it didn't matter. I saw no meteors whizzing across the starry sky. Just before we drove back into the driveway I looked to the Northwest and saw something flickering. I said, "Oh, over there, oh no it's just a flickering star, probably about to burn out."

While we were out we bought a Power Ball ticket for Wednesday nights drawing. Possibly one of these days we'll hit and be rich, rich, rich I say!

Tool man always pays extra for the power play so if we don't win the big one, we'll win extra moolah!

What would we do without our dreams?

Right now I smell my raisin cake in the oven, so I better go check it out. Wish I could share the wonderful smell of spices that's filling my kitchen right now. Mmmmmm! I had some cooked raisins left from Christmas baking projects so I thought I would use them and bake some raisin cake in loaf pans, then freeze them for use later on.

Later this evening I'm going to try a raw apple cake recipe so I can use all the leftover Christmas fruit. Hope this recipe is a good one. If it is, I'll share it with you all.

Until Later,
Okie Girl @ Home

PS.  WE ARE NOT RICH I SAY!
