It's co-co-co-cold here. The wind is howling and all you want to do is snuggle up in a blanket and watch television. It snowed last night, yeah I said SNOW! Just told my better half yesterday I could live with this dry cool winter and BINGO! We got a half inch of snow.
I read the local newspaper this morning and the first article I read kinda ticked me off. The state of Oklahoma has an agency called GRDA, stands for Grand River Dam Authority. We have a huge lake up here in the northeast corner of Oklahoma and that is the source for a lot of electricity. They wholesale the power to other electric companies, although I think they may retail some power also. Not sure about that one. They also give permits for boat docks, etc;.
The item in the news that set me off was they hired a lobbyist to represent them with the state legislature. You've got to be kidding me! What for? They are a state agency, run by a CEO and board of directors. They are not for profit so what kind of legislation do they want that the state cannot grant? I guess I'm a dummy and don't understand big business, but I sure don't get this!
Let's move on to more fun things. Snow Ice Cream! My favorite as a kid. Tool man is out now trying to retrieve enough snow from this tiny snowfall to make a bowl of ice cream. What a good guy he is. I always call him the good guy in the white hat, unless of course he's not so cooperative. If you know what I mean. I whispered this part so he couldn't hear me.
Yum Yum
My mom even gave me my favorite bowl I used when I was a kid!
You'll notice mine is a bit darker, that's because I always give it an extra shot of vanilla.
Why you ask? Because I like it!
Snow Ice Cream
8 cups snow
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
If you don't have it, use regular milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix and definitely eat
This recipe makes enough to share
One last tip. STAY AWAY FROM THE YELLOW SNOW!
Until Later,
