Good Day World!
That's a sarcastic greeting. Can't you hear my tone? I'm gritting my teeth. I hate politics, especially dirty politics. I'm ticked off and I fight back with truth in words.
I just read the local newspaper headline. Someone seems to be out to discredit the current sheriff of this county in Oklahoma. The state auditors have been auditing the books at the sheriff's office and have found some mistakes in accounting procedures. I believe I read that they have made suggestions to correct errors and I believe I read that the sheriff welcomes the suggestions.
It just so happens that the filing time has closed to run for the sheriff position and it also just so happens that an article hit the local paper today that hints there is some money missing from a trust account that holds prisoner bond money and I think, personal money for prisoners. I intentionally put the large space there because I'm uncertain if one account does it all. Oh and by the way the former mayor has filed to run for the office of Sheriff.
Are you getting my drift?
The sheriff has stated that he welcomes the audit and that there has to be an accounting mistake somewhere. I believe him! The article today states that there was $82,000.00 not accounted for in the beginning, but $46,000,00 has already been found and accounted for to date. I'm confident there's a mix-up somewhere in the books.
The current sheriff is a well respected member of the community. Anyone that knows him, knew his family and the code of ethics they embrace.
This smells to high-heaven to me and I certainly hope the citizenry of this town and county won't be fooled into thinking that all this is coincidental so near the primary election in June of 2012. I certainly don't believe it's a coincidence.
Oh yeah, did I mention that there has been an audit of another small town near here? I can think of something both towns had in common at one time, but I won' t.
Have y'all ever heard the terms "sour grapes" or "vendetta"?
I'm reminded an old saying, If you can't win fair and square, then go home.
Until Later,
Okie Girl @ Home
