It's seems it's been a busy week and I just haven't felt too chatty. Know what I mean? Been catching up on chores, doing regular stuff and oh, we've been going to the casino in the evenings and I'm just plumb tuckered out.
I went by Hall-Halsell school yesterday and they've completely finished off the old building.
They kept the newer part of the building
I was correct. They are keeping the cafeteria building intact.
Won't be long before they start the new building.
Did you notice the cloudy weather. YES! It's been such a relief to have the clouds and cooler weather the last week or so. Still not getting rain, but it will be here soon. I hope.
Looking to the west toward South Wilson St.
When I left the school, I headed back south to East Excelsior St. They finished the repaving project and I wanted everyone to see a nice smooth road in Vinita, OK. This doesn't happen very often. The city's budget is top heavy with everything but money for road work.
This is the block by Elliott Truck Line
The change in color of the paving is because the last block was done with about 6 to 8 inches of concrete to help the road hold up for the semi-trucks coming in and out. Good planning on the part of ODOT. No, the city didn't do it.
Same view, just a closeup
This next week is a busy one. Rodeo Parade is on Wednesday, August 22, at 11:00am downtown, then the rodeo will run for five nights. On the same day at 1:00pm is the Old Settler's Reunion at the new Community Building at the fairgrounds. On Saturday, August 25, 2012 is the annual Calf Fry Festival. Then you have the all school reunion on Saturday August 25, 2012, plus individual class reunions mixed into the fray.
Whewwwwwweeeeee! I'm tired, just tellin it.
Hope to see y'all at the parade and reunions. If not, I'll share pictures for those away from home and for those that are interested.
Until Later,
Okie Girl @ Home
