I'm feeling very down this pm. The situation with our neighbor's dogs is reaching a point of frustration and anger.
Can you tell what this is?
It's what is left of a very nice zippered pillow that used to adorn my lawn furniture on my front porch. It was quilted and felt oh so nice. Not anymore.
This side is more intact
Ruined
What really makes me angry is the fact that the neighbor tried to hide all the pillows in a box at the edge of her carport. The neighbor even took the undamaged ones and stuffed them down in the box.
And the neighbor didn't even have the decency to tell me or offer to replace or pay for the pillow. I had to call the neighbor and let her know that I found my pillows and that I knew the dogs had done the wicked, wicked deed.
I just can't seem to get past the rudeness and disregard this person has for other people's possessions and certainly won't accept responsibility for her dogs destroying someone else's property. Oh, the wonderful dogs get loose all the time and if they aren't loose, they're barking. I've lost count of the sleepless nights because of these dogs barking.
You would think they would be declared a nuisance wouldn't you? No, no, no, the police department is holding her hand and giving her tickets to be dismissed each time if she promises to be a good pet owner. I don't know this for sure about the promises, but the officer told me this last ticket could be dismissed if they had no more complaints.
Now the animal control officer is coming to check on the dogs during the day and gives her warning before he comes so she can have food and water out for the animals. They're keeping a cat and heeler dog inside the house and two very large mixed labs in the back yard. Their back yard is smaller than mine and did I mention they don't have doghouses either?
Oh and by the way, did I mention that no one is living in the house at the present time? No, I forgot. They have a water leak or something and the house isn't habitable at this time because the water is turned off. They haven't inhabited the house for I'd say 2 months now. Yep, the dogs are still there, oh and the cat with the broken or deformed leg.
The smell near the vinyl fence in my back yard is atrocious. Too mild a word for that stench. How about running, gagging all the way to the house.
I also failed to mention that tool man has mowed their yard the last 3 or 4 years for them, just trying to be a good neighbor. Is this neighbor a little old lady? NO!
I used to think I lived in a good neighborhood, a place where children ran and played and rode their bicycles daily, sometimes stopping to say, "Hi". That's still the good part, but when you have one rotten apple in the barrel, it can spoil the whole neighborhood.
Usually I feel better after I vent, not this time.
Until Later,
Okie Girl @ Home
