It's been awhile hasn't it? Sorryyy. Just seems like there hasn't been a story worth telling. This post is going to be jumbled and full of different topics, so fasten the ole seat belt and hang on.
I promised last time to tell you about the ward lines in Vinita, OK. It was on the agenda to straighten a line between Ward 2 & 3. It ran right smack dab through the middle of a house. Okay, so that needed to be changed. All in agreement? Aye! See how easy that was?
Well, something happened before that agenda made it to the council room to be voted on. I don't have proof beyond a reasonable doubt, but I surmise there was a man that didn't want it changed. Was anyone else involved? I dunno. I suspect there was, but can't prove it. There would have been just a handful of homes involved in straightening the line. Anyway, the agenda for the council meeting was amended and that particular change wasn't on the amended version.
One last comment on ward lines and I'm through. Over the years, politics and where people live have caused the lines to look more like a maze or one of those puzzles where you jig and jog to find your way through it. Just can't abide politics and corruption.

I haven't heard if the building is going to be demolished yet. So sad because it dates back to Indian Territory, although there have been changes and additions over the years, some even during WPA.
