And the Thermometer Says!

Hey Friends and Neighbors,

It's soooo hot here, you need a potholder to open the car door. It's sooo hot here, the hum of the air-conditioner gives you a panic attack instead of relief. It's sooo hot here, you argue about who's gonna go get the mail. Get the idea? It's hot!

I do remember heat like this when I was a kid and it didn't bother us then like it does now. Heck we didn't have air-conditioner until I was probably 14 years old.

108 degrees at 1:00pm

I think all this week is supposed to be 110, 111, 110, 109, 108, so on and so on. I get excited when a cloud  comes over and gives shade for about 5 minutes now.

It was too hot to do anything else, so I tried out a couple
of new recipes.

The first one was a key lime cookie. Not difficult at all, but
a very rich, decadent cookie. More of a dessert than a
cookie in my opinion.

The next one was a pecan pie muffin. Mmmmm, good! They made a
smaller, thin muffin, but not bad. I would make them again.

Here's some more pictures I took last week and didn't have room to share.

The new First National Motor Bank

Another view of the new motor bank

This is taken from the driveway of the old motor bank, so it's going
to be in close proximity.

I'm not sure when it's opening, probably within 30-60 days

In this last photo you can see a building on the far left side of the photo. That's Burkhalter Funeral Home, so now you know where the bank is if you're familiar with Vinita.

And that's the news around Vinita, sooooo,

Until Later
